Digital Scanning

Our intraoral scanner replaces the traditional putty-and-tray impression with a small handheld wand that captures a detailed 3D digital image of your teeth in minutes. There’s no thick, messy material to bite down on and hold in place, no waiting for it to set, and no gag-inducing trays just a quick, comfortable scan.

Beyond comfort, digital impressions are simply more accurate. The scanner captures fine detail that traditional impressions can miss or distort, which translates into restorations, aligners, and appliances that fit better the first time. Because the scan appears on screen in real time, we can also review it with you and point out exactly what’s being planned and why making the whole process easier to understand.

Digital scans are used for crowns, bridges, implants, aligners, nightguards, retainers, and whitening trays, and they feed directly into our in-office 3D printing and same-day milling systems.

3D Printing

Once a digital scan is taken, many appliances no longer need to be sent to an outside lab and waited on for days or weeks. Our in-office 3D printers let us design and produce items directly at the clinic often the same day.

This includes:

Nightguards and other bite appliances
Crowns and bridges
Retainers
Whitening trays
Diagnostic and study models used for treatment planning

Producing these in-house means fewer appointments, no waiting on external lab turnaround, and no gap between diagnosis and treatment. If a nightguard cracks or a retainer is lost, we can often turn around a replacement in a fraction of the time a traditional lab would take. Keeping design and production under one roof also means tighter quality control and more consistency from scan to finished appliance.

Same-Day Crowns

With digital design paired with in-office milling and printing, many crowns can be completed in a single visit. The tooth is scanned, the restoration is designed digitally, and the final crown is produced and placed without a temporary crown or a second appointment to wait for a lab-made restoration.

Solea Laser Dentistry

Solea is an advanced dental laser that allows many procedures to be completed with little to no need for the traditional drill, needle, or sutures. For many patients, it’s the technology that changes how a dental visit feels quieter, faster, and far more comfortable than they expect.

Cavity Treatment With Reduced or No Anesthesia

For many cavities, Solea can prepare the tooth without the vibration, pressure, or noise of a traditional drill. Because the laser is precise and generates very little heat or vibration in the tooth, a large share of routine cavity treatments can be completed with reduced anesthetic and in many cases, without a numbing injection at all. That means less time spent numb after the appointment and one less reason for patients (especially children and anxious patients) to dread a filling.

Soft-Tissue Procedures

Solea is also used for a range of soft-tissue treatments, including gum recontouring and reshaping, treatment of canker sores and cold sores, and correcting a “gummy” smile. Laser soft-tissue work is typically faster to heal from than traditional methods, with less bleeding during the procedure and often no sutures required.

Frenectomies

Tongue-tie and lip-tie releases (frenectomies) are one of the procedures where Solea offers a clear advantage. The laser allows for a precise, virtually bloodless release with minimal discomfort and a quick recovery a meaningful benefit for infants and young children in particular, and often something that would otherwise mean a referral out to an oral surgeon or specialist.

Biopsies and Other Procedures

Solea can also be used to perform soft-tissue biopsies with precision and minimal bleeding, along with other procedures that call for a controlled, minimally invasive approach. Where earlier treatment options might have required referring a patient elsewhere, Solea allows more of these procedures to be completed comfortably, in-house, without an added trip to a specialist’s office.

Taken together, Solea allows us to treat cavities and many soft-tissue conditions more comfortably and efficiently, often reducing both the anesthesia required and the number of visits or referrals needed to complete treatment.
