Digital Scanning

Digital scanning replaces messy traditional dental impressions with a faster, more comfortable, and highly accurate process. Using a small handheld intraoral scanner, we capture detailed 3D images of your teeth and bite that can be used to plan crowns, bridges, aligners, implants, retainers, and other treatments.

With no trays of impression material to bite into or wait to set, digital scanning helps make the experience easier and more comfortable for patients. The detailed digital model also supports precise treatment planning and can help achieve a better fit when restorations and dental appliances are created.

Because your scan can be viewed on-screen, it also gives you a clearer look at your teeth and makes it easier to understand your treatment and what we’re planning.

In-Office 3D Printing

Our in-office 3D printing technology allows us to create a variety of dental restorations, appliances, and models right here at Smiles On Pape.

Depending on your treatment needs, 3D printing can be used to produce nightguards, retainers, whitening trays, dental models, and certain crowns and bridges. Having this technology in our office means selected cases can be completed without relying on the lengthy turnaround times often associated with outside dental laboratories.

For our patients, that can mean faster results, fewer delays, and a more convenient treatment experience.

Solea® Dental Laser

More Comfortable, Efficient Laser Dentistry

For many people, the thought of dental treatment brings to mind needles, numbness, drilling, vibration, or lengthy appointments. The Solea Dental Laser gives us an advanced alternative for certain procedures, with technology designed to make treatment more comfortable and efficient.

Solea is an all-tissue dental laser that can be used on both teeth and soft tissue. For certain cavity treatments, Solea may allow our dentists to treat the tooth with reduced or, in some cases, no local anesthesia. This can mean fewer injections and less lingering numbness after your appointment when laser treatment is appropriate.

Because Solea works differently from a traditional dental drill, it can also reduce the vibration and other sensations patients commonly associate with restorative dental treatment.

More Than Cavity Treatment

Solea’s capabilities extend beyond treating teeth. Our dentists can also use the laser for a range of soft-tissue procedures where appropriate, including:

• Frenectomies
• Certain biopsies
• Gum contouring and tissue management
• Other soft-tissue and restorative procedures

The precision of laser technology can help our dentists work efficiently while minimizing bleeding during many soft-tissue procedures.

Having Solea available in our practice also expands the types of treatment we may be able to provide in-house. For selected procedures and appropriate cases, this can potentially reduce the need for a referral to a specialist, allowing you to receive more of your dental care from a team and in an environment you already know.

Not every procedure or patient is a candidate for laser dentistry. Our dentists will evaluate your individual needs and determine whether Solea is an appropriate option for your treatment.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

CEREC technology allows us to design, create, and place certain dental restorations in our office, often during a single appointment.

The process begins with a detailed digital scan of your tooth. Using computer-assisted technology, we design your restoration and create it in our office to provide a precise, customized fit.

For eligible cases, this can eliminate the need for a temporary crown and the traditional wait for a restoration to return from an outside dental laboratory. Instead, you may be able to leave your appointment with your permanent crown already in place.

CEREC combines digital precision with in-office convenience, helping make restorative treatment simpler and more efficient.
